For more than 25 years articulate passionate students have been working to
fight budget cuts and support vital UC Berkeley programs, colleges, and
scholarships. Graduating with a degree will not gaurantee employment
however paired with work experience and the ability to prusuade and
negotiate there will be no stopping you in accomplishing both your
accademic and occupational aspirations. With the most flexible schedule on
campus this has never been easier.

The Cal Calling Center is dedicated to supporting and extending UC
Berkeley’s excellence in education by informing alumni and parents of new
developments on campus and encouraging them to get involved through
donating. With a diverse atmosphere of fellow Cal students we strive to
meet and exceed goals, while raising much needed funds for key programs
such as:

The Cal Calling Center also specializes in fundraising support for
numerous campus departments, such as:

– Haas School of Business
– Boalt Hall School of Law
– Cal Athletics
– College of Letters and Science
– College of Engineering
– College of Environmental Design
– Colle of Chemistry
– College of Natural Resources and many others

Each night you will meet dozens of successful Berkeley Alum and update
them on news from Cal as well as share experiences with them over the
phone. In doing so, you will be strengthening the Cal community by acting
as a liaison between Cal Alum and UC Berkeley. It’s here at the Cal
Calling Center that we raised over $2,000,000 last year!

Responsibilities:

– Reach out and engage Cal Alumni & UC Berkeley Community through
telecommunications
– Update constituents on: new developments, research, alumni activities
and ways to get involved
– Cultivate philanthropy and inspire donations

Qualifications:

– Must be a Cal student or recent graduate (1 semester)
– Must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week (about 10 hours)
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Work experience in fundraising or customer service is a plus
– A positive attitude and fun personality!

Compensation:

The starting pay as a trainee is $10.00/hr plus bonuses and after making
the statistics necessary to move out of the probationary period your wage
will be raised to $11.00/hr. Afterwards, at every 110 hours, callers are
eligible to receive an additional $0.50. We also offer work study. We
offer your choice of flexible hours (you choose your own shifts) and a fun
student working environment!

Training:

New hires will need to complete a 5-Day training course and minimum 30 day
probationary period. Once completed you will automatically be raised to
$11.00/hr and evaluated for our program.
After training Callers must work a minimum of two shifts per week and only
one weekend shift can count as a minimum.

Training Hours:

Monday – Friday         4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Calling Hours:

Monday – Friday         5:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Saturday                10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Sunday                  12:00 pm- 4:00 pm
