Cal Student Central: One location for student financial, registration and documentation needs.

After years of collaboration between students and administration, it’s almost ready!

Cal Student Central: One location for student financial, registration and documentation needs.

Dear Students, Staff and Faculty,

We are pleased to announce the grand opening of Cal Student Central, a one-stop student services center that will help to transform the student experience by bringing together financial aid,* fees and billing, payments, disbursements, registration and enrollment in one convenient location. In the past, students who needed to take care of this essential business had to visit several different offices, some located across campus from each other. The primary goal of Cal Student Central’s cross-trained, service-oriented team is to ensure a timely and efficient response to student requests, while reducing the need to refer students elsewhere. Located in 120 Sproul Hall and open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Cal Student Central is the place where students can now order a transcript or verify enrollment, ask financial aid questions, apply for an emergency loan, pick up a refund check or pay their tuition and fees.

Cal Student Central is an Operational Excellence project and early on in the design process was identified by student representatives as a top priority. Because the student experience is central to this project, its advisory committee had significant student representation. Students shared their preferred service process–including how they would like to meet with staff in an open, casual environment–and they helped with the layout of the space down to the configuration of furniture. Student input also helped to determine the name and visual design preferences, making the formation of Cal Student Central truly a collaborative effort. We thank the students and staff who provided vital feedback throughout the planning and implementation process.
