Apply to be the Health and Wellness Director in the ASUC Office of the Executive Vice President’s Student Resources Department!
We live in a community of busy students who often neglect their bodies and other times push their bodies to their limits. It’s not easy being a student at UC Berkeley where you study at all hours of the night and then spend hours working or volunteering and participating in student groups. So the ASUC EVP office plans to help students prioritize this. This position would assist students in prioritizing health and wellness again. Whether it be through programs like mind, body, and awareness week or promoting a health and wellness referendum that will bring new programs and facilities to keep our community healthy, the Health and Wellness Director will be at the forefront of those movements. In addition, the Health and Wellness Director will work alongside campus organizations and committees to ensure that administrators and faculty as well as students are prioritizing student health and wellness. We will work to fight for more mental health resources, healthier food options on and off campus, sexual health education, public health education, and better facilities/programs for exercising and wellness.
Job Description: Health and Wellness Resource Director (1)
The Health and Wellness Director is charged with the overall health and wellness of the student body. The Director will engage campus bodies like the Student Health Advisory Committee, Greeks Advocating for the Mature Management of Alcohol (GAMMA), the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Mental Health, Rec Sports, and student organizations to foster healthy lifestyles for students. The Student Wellness Director will work alongside RHA, the Greek Community, and the Berkeley Student Cooperative to reinvigorate a health worker program. The Student Wellness Director will also be the Executive Vice President’s representative to campus committees on community wellness, and work alongside the Project and Programs Department to create health-minded programs. The Director is also expected to collaborate with those pursuing a health and wellness referendum this upcoming year. A candidate for this position must be a self-starter and have a vision for creating a healthier student body.
