On behalf of the University of California Office of the President, you are invited to attend an Open Forum entitled “How Would You Respond to the Next Occupy?” in Pauley Ballroom, on January 31, 2012, 4 – 6 p.m.

UC General Counsel Charles Robinson and UC Berkeley School of Law Dean Christopher Edley, Jr. invite students and faculty to share their opinions and experiences on:

– Best practices for pre-event planning, such as event observers and pre-event coordination

– Best practices during events, including issues such as mutual aid and the role of campus administrators and faculty

– Best post-event practices, including such issues as civilian review

– Educating police, students, faculty and administrators regarding policies and best practices

This Open Forum, sponsored by the UC Office of the President, is part of a Looking Forward  project to examine current policies and identify best practices in connection with protests at all 10 UC campuses.

Managers and supervisors are encouraged to print out and post this message for any staff who do not have ready access to a computer.

Sincerely,
Claire Holmes
