Are you interested in serving as a public defender of UC Berkeley? Join SAO! The Student Advocate’s Office is an executive, non-partisan office of the student government at UC Berkeley that offers representation, help, and advice to any student or student group involved in a dispute with the University. The office’s caseworkers can provide assistance for a broad variety of problems, including conduct violations, grade disputes, enrollment issues, financial aid problems, establishment of residency, discrimination, harassment, and filing grievances. All assistance is free and confidential. The office is open during the school year M-F 10am-5pm in 204 Eshleman.
This is one of the best and most exciting opportunities to get involved on campus and help your fellow students. Not only will you be joining a dynamic group on campus, but you will become part of an alumni network with contacts at Google, Harvard Law, Teach for America, Pixar and more. To learn more we highly recommend attending one of our info sessions on January 26 at 7PM and January 30 at 7:30PM in Douglas Fir in MLK Student Union.
