Berkeley, CA – October 22, 2011 – As a rapidly emerging dance crew in the California hip hop
dance scene, UC Berkeley’s Main Stacks Dance Team is excited to host Prelude Norcal Urban
Dance Competition. This highly anticipated hip hop competition is scheduled for Saturday,
November 19, 2011 at the Chabot College Performing Arts Center in Hayward, CA. Tickets are
$15 pre-sale and $20 at the door. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the show will start approximately
at 6 PM.

As one of the most recognized hip hop dance competitions in the Bay Area, Prelude Norcal will
continue its tradition in an event where youth, collegiate, and community groups can showcase
their talents. Teams from all across California will display their hard work and creativity on our
dance floor as they fight for the title of 2011 Prelude Norcal Champions.

Prelude’s mission is to support the dance community with a competition focusing on and
showcasing local & regional hip hop dance groups. By training and preparing for this event,
Prelude hopes to enrich, strengthen, and improve individual dancers, dance crews, and the
overall dance community.

Main Stacks has been hard at work since the end of last year’s competition to prepare for Prelude
Norcal 2011. Prelude Directors have been collaborating with other local dance teams to host
workshops promoting Prelude Norcal called “The Prelude Norcal Roadshow Workshop Tour.”
In doing so, Main Stacks and Prelude encourages people from the local community to come
together and DANCE.

With Prelude Norcal 2011 quickly approaching, Main Stacks is very excited to see the creativity
that competing and exhibitioning teams will bring to the stage.
