UC Online Instruction Pilot Project Advisory Committee (OIPP)
OIPP is a systemwide effort to develop and evaluate online undergraduate courses at UC. Crafted as a research project, courses will produce assessment data that researchers will examine to discover how online education can be effectively integrated into UC’s undergraduate curriculum. The first courses are scheduled to be delivered in January 2012, with offerings at only a few campuses. The selection of online courses will expand until January 2013 when all of the over two dozen pilot project courses will have been offered. The OIPP Advisory Committee is an ad hoc sub-committee of the Academic Planning Council established to provide guidance to the pilot project on issues such as:
- The role for online instruction in the undergraduate curriculum at UC
- Challenges and best ways to proceed with online instruction
- Evaluation and assessment of detailed course proposals
- The faculty’s development of detailed course proposals
- Fee distribution for cross-campus courses
