Dear Campus Community,
On behalf of the Council of Deans, we urge you to attend the upcoming Forum on the Future of Public Universities in Pauley Ballroom, on Tuesday, 25 October 2011, 12-2pm.
Angela Glover Blackwell, Robert Reich and Peter Schrag will speak on the topic of Social Inequality and Social Opportunity.
We chose to begin with the topic of Social Inequality and Social Opportunity because the role of public university education as a pathway to upward mobility is of critical concern not only to the character of our university but also to the nation at large. With the unprecedented disinvestment in public universities, access to higher education and ultimately the life chances of many Americans will be impacted. Please join us in this important discussion.
