and Office Supplies

Calling all students, faculty and staff- head to Campbell Hall Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
of next week (October 20-22) between 11am and 3pm to save furniture, office supplies, and old
telescope parts from the recycling plant or worse yet- landfill.

On Thursday and Friday the “Free Day” event will be open only to the UC Berkeley community
(Cal ID required for access to building). On Saturday, the “Free Day” will be open to the public,
schools, nonprofits, and the UC Berkeley community.

Campbell Hall, located just west of Pimentel and adjacent to LeConte, will be demolished in the
next few months so all of this material needs to find a new home now. Capital Projects, Moving
Services, Campus Recycling and Refuse Services, and student groups ReUSE and GO! Team
have partnered to salvage furniture and reusable items from the seven floors of Campbell Hall.

Approximately 100 chairs, 50 desks, 50 shelves, 60 filing cabinets, and over 50 boxes of various
office supplies including whiteboards and unused cassette tapes, and even new bicycle tubes will
be available at the “Free Day” event. Metal Furniture is only available to campus departments.
